So what made this feel sweet and satisfying to me? Yin's concentration and attention to detail has always been sharp but I noticed, as she started tying me, that she had deepened her sense of calm as well. It was very easy for me to breathe into her tying and let that connect me to her. I had no idea where she wanted to go with the tie but I didn't have any reservations about going along for the ride. Was it her voice whispering to me or the soft hiss of rope sliding across rope that helped push me into headspace? Both, I believe. I dipped in and out, while still feeling Yin's hands on me as she pulled the rope taut and readied me for the next binding. I never lost my sense of her despite the floating sensations I experienced. To me, that's what headspace is: being aware of your partner's actions and support even while "flying". One of the things I like, too, about playing with Yin, is that I can fly even when she's tying me with my feet on the ground. Suspension isn't a necessary element for me to enter headspace. Yin understands that on a deep level and for that I am truly grateful. |
