Lament: A Kaddish For My Mother In Three Parts
I recently watched the videotape that I shot during the Lament. I just set up my little camera on a tripod and let it roll. It captured the whole thing from one perspective, an objective eye on the process. I had to turn off my inner critic (I have a degree in video production that's never made me much money but nonetheless colors my viewing of television and film) so I could just experience the scene as it unfolded. The raw emotion is there. The desperation is there. The anger is there. The beauty is there. The exhaustion is there. The longing is there.
