February, 2006

This month has started off inauspiciously: Corretta Scott King is dead. The nation has lost an icon in the fight for civil freedoms. She leaves behind a world that's much changed but still in danger. The Civil Rights fight isn't over. Nor is the fight for our rights to freedom of speech and expression and privacy. As an example, even now the Justice Department is trying to get Google to give up data that will tell it what people have been searching for (and potentially who those people are) in an attempt to revive a law that was struck down by the Supreme Court. Again, the idea that adults can view anything they deem appropriate is being threatened by an administration that, theoretically, should be disdainful of invasive government. Instead we have more government intrusion into our personal lives than ever before. In my opinion, it doesn't matter what political party you support, if you are a regular visitor here, or to any Web site that is designed for adults only, you are in danger of losing the freedom to do so. Write your Senators and Congresspersons and tell them you want less intrusion into what you, as adults, do in your personal lives. And donate to The National Coalition For Sexual Freedom.

End of political rant. Beginning of rope bliss report.

Last month I had a wonderful time shooting with Michele in San Francisco. An abandoned gym and an abandoned warehouse/factory were the locations for some amazing images with my friends Angelene Black and "Heavy Duty" Judy (you'll remember her from the bicycle bondage shoot). I'll post those when it's time (lots for me to show you before that, though) but it was such a fun trip that I had to talk a bit about it here. Angelene and Judy are both amazing women and I'm honored they agreed to shoot with me.

A couple of weeks ago, Michele and I presented some of our work at the TES Bondage Special Interest Group meeting. We'll be doing the same presentation in Seattle in April at The Wet Spot. We'll also be hanging out with Monk of Twisted Monk fame, shooting and going to the SciFi museum (yes, I'm a geek)! And in April we'll be traveling to Boston for Rope Dojo – which is already sold out! I'm working on getting a shoot together with my friend Gael, as well as more play and shooting with Skye. There's also a plan to make a trip up to Maine for some fun, fro lick and rope, too. So, there are lots of rope adventures coming up; I hope you'll continue to join me for them!

Namaste,
